When measuring a swimming pool using the AB Measuring Process, there’s no room for shortcuts.  You want to be as accurate as possible, to make sure your liners and covers fit like a glove.  So, trying to take a short cut, like measuring fewer points… isn’t really an option.

But, there is a way to make it less labor-intensive, without sacrificing accuracy.

How Tape Measures Cause Physical Harm

While tape measures can be highly accurate if they are used by an experienced pool professional, they do cause physical harm to the body.

There’s no way to use them without physically contorting your body in an unwise manner. Not to mention, doing from 50-100 measurements per project.

Bending continually is risky

Using tape measures when measuring a pool, requires bending down for every point taken.

The risk with bending over is that your body weight has to stabilize itself and tends to do that by tightening your lower back muscles.  As they fatigue, more stress gets put on the joints which can pull them out of alignment or pinch a nerve.

Static positions cut off blood flow

Anytime we are bent down into an awkward position and hold it steady (in this case, holding the tape in place, getting the measurement and relaying it to another person or App), we are cutting off blood from the areas we are stressing.  Typically, our ankles, knees and lower back get compressed the most, in these positions.  Add to that limited blood flow and those areas get weaker and stressed.  This results in tightness, fatigue and aches.  Doing it over and over puts us at risk of pulling something out of alignment.  Not only is this painful, but it can cause us to miss work and effect all of our other projects.

Doing multiple measurements in a row compounds these issues

The only thing worse than bending over at awkward angles and cutting off blood flow… is to do those motions over and over in a row.

Pool companies tell us that they measure anywhere from several dozen points to well over 100 points, depending upon the pool complexity.

When using tape measures, the best-case scenario is incurring fatigue, inflammation and possibly soreness.  In the worst-cases scenario, it results in an injury that costs us time and money to heal.

Tape measures are not only more labor intensive and harmful to the body… they are also less accurate.  See how Trigonon compares to tape measures in regards to accuracy:

How Trigonon Reduces Fatigue and Injuries

Using Trigonon allows you to take laser measurements, while standing comfortably.  This allows you to get precise measurements with drastically reduced fatigue.  In addition, you do not have to bend over and hold positions that put strain on your body.

When we stand upright, we are balanced and not putting undue stress on smaller parts of our bodies.  So we do not subject ourselves to any risk of injury!

Trigonon also allows you peace of mind.  While aiming the laser at the AB buckets, you don’t have to worry about slack in the line or too much tension… both of which will give bad measurements.  Instead, you can relax and know that you are getting the most accurate measures possible!
