How to Use Trigonon to Measure Pool Covers and Liners

The Trigonon Measuring Device

The pool industry uses Trigonon to measure swimming pools accurately… to replace pool covers and liners.  Trigonon has become the most practical device for pool liner replacements, due to it’s accuracy.  It is also the only device that can work for any type of water feature a pool contains.  Drones are hindered by nearby trees and the necessity of obtaining a license to fly them.  In addition, they cannot pinpoint the walls under the coping.  Other types of laser technologies cannot measure underwater stairs, or inside grottos.  With Trigonon, you can measure any situation or water feature that is present.  The laser technology it uses, measures down to 1/8″.

Since so many Pool Company Owners already use the AB Measuring process to measure swimming pools, we decided to keep that process and even standardize it!  Developing exact procedures helps with training new employees.  The owner no longer has to be the sole person doing the measuring.  In addition, having set procedures helps save money too (by eliminating costly human error mistakes).

So, we have simply taken the AB process and improved on it, with the use of software and laser technology.

How the Trigonon Device Works

To put it simply, you use the Trigonon device… instead of pulling Tape Measures.

So, you still measure the perimeter of the pool from point to point.  But, rather than pulling a tape measure from Bucket A and then Bucket B to that point, you simply stand with the device on your point and have it shoot a laser to Bucket A and then to Bucket B.  The device records it automatically in the software.  Then, you move to the next point and repeat.

Two handed attachment helps to aim and operate the device

Your mobile phone connects to our device and allows you to operate it.  We developed a two handed mobile phone attachment piece, that makes it easier to operate. You slip the attachment on the poles that hold the device and move it to the top of the pole.  Then, you can slip your phone into the slot.  The attachment has a spring-loaded holder, to keep the phone in place!

With two hands, you have better control for aiming the lasers at the buckets.  You can also use your thumbs to easily push buttons without having to look at your phone!

The software lets you keep track of the pool drawing and allows edits

At any given point, you can see the drawing of the pool as you are measuring.  It helps to see if something is “off”.  If so, it’s super easy to fix.  You just edit that spot and remeasure it.  Even if you have already done many points after the point in question, when you go back and edit it, the software makes the correction and all of your remaining points still work.

Train Your Employees to Measure Liners and Covers

Pool company owners have said they like Trigonon, because it allows their new employees, or those still learning… how to measure pools.  Whether it’s a liner or a cover, you can teach them the process and our device will reinforce it for you!

We have ongoing videos being made to show customers how to assemble the device and phone-holder to the pole.  In addition we have videos showing the whole process we use to do a measuring job.  This not only helps the pool owner get up and running quickly, but also trains the employees.  They can be a useful source to reinforce initial training and commit the processes to memory!

The software used in the Trigonon device has helpful features built in to train employees.  One of them is the green, “?” icon, placed throughout the entire measuring process.  At any given step, your employee can click on the question mark to get pictures and written instructions!  That’s not only helpful for training initially… but keeps everyone on the same process and helps them to complete a project fully.
